National Seminar on “Buddhism in North East India”                                    inaugurated at DU 

Buddhism teachings can civilization of the legacy of the 21st Century: Prof.Buragohain

Naba Kumar Bharali from Dibrugarh University, Feb 19 : A three-day national seminar on "Buddhism in North East India" organized by the Buddhist Study Center,Dibrugarh University in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts (IGNCA) at Dibrugarh University of Sri Aniruddhadev Bhavan starting from today to 21st February. In the inaugural session Dr. Ajay Kumar Mishra, Coordinator of the National Seminar presented the perspective of the seminar. Professor Alak Kumar Buragohain, Vice-Chancellor of Dibrugarh University inaugurated the Seminar. In his inaugural speech Prof. Buragohain highlighted that the limitation of medium education, where including so much so growth of economic & social problems can perused day by day. In context he said the Buddhism teachings and the civilization of the legacy of the 21st Century.
Before the inaugural speech Dr. Chandan Kumar Sarma, Associate Professor of History Dept. Deleivered the welcome address in the event As a dignitaries Dr. Richa Negi, Coordinator of IGNCA, Ven. Geshe La Damudul, Director of Tibet House, New Delhi was present in the seminar. The more than thirty scholars from North East including all states participated in the National Seminar. Prof. Biswajit Baruah, Head of the Dept. of History offered vote of thanks. 
The seminar will continue till 21st February 2018.
